Title: "The 8mm Reels 2020 Remaster"

IMPORTANT NOTE: This film contains mostly incomplete, shaky and poorly shot private footage synchronized to the audio recorded on tapedecks produced more than 50 years ago. For this Slowhand Archive Project, all footage and audio recordings have been meticulously retransfered, remastered and resynced during May and June 2020.

As stated below our friend; Leonid, has done amazing work. Although many people were involved in this Slowhand Archive Project, it would not have been possible without his skills and hard work!

Notes:
In the true spirit of the "Slowhand Archive Project", several fans and friends have helped to locate the best possible sources for the 8 mm films of EC performing in the 60s and 70s. Some of us first received these clips on old VHS tapes in the early nineties and have since collected various versions of the same clips. Neither feature complete songs. Most were filmed without sound. Several were hard to watch due to the poor technical capabilities of the private cameras used, or poor 8mm to VHS conversion.

A Slowhand Archive Project was in the making.

After a fresh transfer of all films from the low-gen VHS sources direct to HD, a search started for the best possible audio sources. Ones the sources were found and remastered, Leonid offered to sync the footage with audio, meticulously looking at movements and syncing frame by frame. He has previously synced and shared some of these clips (using inferior sources), but starting over now, he improved the sync of all films compared to previous versions and several mistakes were corrected. Several of the clips are totally new with synced audio, such as Fort Worth 1979, the black and white footage of the great jams with Larry Correll and Freddie King at the Crystal Palace Bowl in 1976, as well as an excellent version of Early in The Morning from Dublin 1979. The killer of the entire set must be Further On Up The Road from Nassau 1978, with Marcy Levy on harp.

The Nassau film from April 1978 was originally shot with poor sound (and sometimes not in sync with the picture), but now the audio track has been replaced with a much better version. Highly recommmended!

Efforts have been made to track down the original tapers and even the best possible quality or lowest generation of a tape. We want to give credit where it's due, so please get in touch if you were one of the original tapers involved in either the film or audio recordings.

About The Slowhand Archive Project:
The main reason for doing all this work and the aim of the Slowhand Archive Project, is to raise awareness about these old film and audio recordings. Have you ones filmed or recorded a show with Eric Clapton, but since forgotten all about it? Please consider to share it now. Time is passing, and some unique recordings might already be lost forever. The goal of the Slowhand Archive Project is to ensure rare recordings and films with Eric Clapton, are unearthed and shared for free with fellow music fans, before they are lost forever.

If you have filmed or recorded a show with EC, please get in touch on this email address:

The Slowhand Archive Project have already received and shared several "lost" recordings from fans all over the world, and can also help you digitize, remaster and share with respect for the work and efforts used to record the show. Everything will we shared freely. This is a fan driven project. The Slowhand Archive Project has no commercial interests. If you see an ad on the SAP Youtube channel, it's Google selling the "ad space" to highest bidder.

This is a true global fan project, made by Eric Clapton fans for Eric Clapton fans. The videos have received a revolving text-logo in the lower right corner making life for bootleggers and dishonest copycats, as hard as possible. Enjoy!
