Geetarz Notes:
Taken directly from the master, this is the definitive version
of this Aplay/Geetarz recording. I was so jazzed by the recording
that the next morning I went to Aplay's office and did a
"quick and dirty" mastering job, using Nero WavEdit and CDWav.
I burned a few copies for myself and friends, to use in the car
for the remainder of my Florida road trip. I was kidnapped to the Florida
Keys by Blonde Sirens Sweetly Singing and had other priorities than torrenting!

Unknown what happened, as my CDs were fine, but somehow the
files on the PC were corrupted, leading to a glitch on the second disc when upp'd.
Still on vacation (the Florida Keys rock!), friends called me and
informed me of the problems, and then were kind enough to post
on the various torrent sites that I was aware of the issue and would
post a pristine copy when I had the time.

It was at this point that people for some reason took it upon themselves
to waste time and "fix" the corrupted torrent, which I still can't fathom
what that was about since it was made clear that the original file was
fine and that a new torrent would be posted somewhere down the road.

At any rate, the trading pool has now been sullied by these "fixed" versions,
so this master is easily distinguishable by the following:

1) Geetarz intro on D1
2) D1 contains the electric set ONLY
3) Fade in on D2
4) Cody Woo at the end of D2

If your version of this show does not contain the above, you don't have
the real thing!

Since I'm on my soapbox, I would like to take the time to point out that
some people really get bent out of shape by those of us who insist on good
trading practices, instead thinking we should concentrate on intentions, not
results. I don't agree, this stuff should not be taken personally but at the
same time, any time one gets the idea to remaster, fix, edit, or otherwise
change a recording that already exists, it is incumbent upon that person to
first consider whether what they are doing will make the trading pool more, or
less confusing down the road. Another example would be when people take
existing artwork, and apply it to a different source, which is NOT helpful
as it simply leads to confusion down the road.

There are thousands of shows that need to be mastered, missing artwork, etc.
If you've time on your hands, please, tackle one of those and everyone wins.

And to really hang it out there ... some of us rub others the same way because
of our insistence on quality, and I always am reminded of a conflict with my
parents when I was going through that rebellious phase when I didn't want to
go to school. I was told very of matter of factly "Hey, we have money, a house,
everything we need ... if you want to be a bum, it's your life".

And in that vein, just to be blunt ... my friends and I already HAVE the perfect
version of this show, and don't NEED it. The work I've done to redo this and
distinguish it from the other versions is time I could have applied to other shows
that aren't out yet. Our insistence on quality doesn't really help
us at all, it's in the service of others down the road.

Oh ... and to the Mid Valley folks who used the "fixed" version for "Hollywood High Rollers" ...

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THAT?

This is stinking Mid Valley, and I have been singing your praises for years, don't tarnish your reputation with this crap. Oh, and if you snag and release this torrent, at least have the decency to send Aplay and me copies? There is no way we are gonna pay to have copies of our own show. Especially after the ticket prices, and at least for me, the bar tab alone!

Massive thanks to John, Andy, Susan, Gina, Sally, Steve, Eddy, and so many others
who helped make this a great (and well needed) vacation.

Massive thanks as well to APlay and his Lucky Taping Shirt. Of course, I mentioned the lucky shirt to him and he shrugged, saying, "any shirt I use is lucky". <g>

And above all, I am convinced that the problem with the original torrent was that there was no supervision and moral support from Cody Husky. He diligently supervised this mastering process, since we encoded to FLAC, decoded, burned, and LISTENED, on headphones, during a CodyRun. Thanks Code!

Happy journeys, see y'all on the road!
