Geetarz Comments:

The date on the CD jacket is incorrectly listed as April 25, 1979 - this is sourced from the widely available King Biscuit Flower Hour broadcast, with the tracks merely rearranged.

Here's a trip to the wayback machine, kids, to the way things used to be, when silver CDs were quasi legit and you paid $25 a pop (and $50 for a double). You searched obscure magazines for ads with tiny print, then you sent off beaucoups of money in international money orders on nothing more than an artist's name and a release title - if you were lucky, it might even be the concert advertised on the cover. And in those days, you were happy to get what you got. Nowadays the downloader types don't know how good they have it ... "well maybe I'll download it if I get a sample", etc. Oh, yeah, and we used to walk 10 miles through the snow, barefoot, to get to school, too - ha ha!

This title has been supplanted by other more complete releases over time (including the wonderful "After Hours" on the Mid Valley label) but it still is near and dear to me. At one time I only had a handful of ROIO releases on CD and this was one of them, so needless to say it got a lot of ear time.

Here's a bit of trivia, this was the first King Biscuit show distributed to radio stations on CD (as opposed to vinyl and/or reel) so if you ever run across an original King Biscuit of this show it is quite valuable as it's of interest not only to EC fans but Radio Show collectors as well. The last original I saw change hands went for $500 at a record fair some years back (remember those? we had those before the inter-tubes). Not my bag as I just want the tunes.

Silver CD > Plextor PX-712A > EAC v 0.99 (Prebeta 4, Secure) > FLAC (Level 5) > You !!!

EAC extraction log, Audiochecker v. 1.2 log, checksums (ffp, MD5, ST5), and info file thoughtfully provided.

Also included are new scans at 300DPI done today (1 October 2009, A.D.), as well as a scan of the silver CD so you know you're getting this directly from the original.

Even if you have this title, this may be a nice upgrade for you.

Enjoy!
