DATE:
Budokan, Tokyo, Japan
October 7th 1977

QUALITY:
Very Good - Excellent Audience

PERFORMANCE:
Eric Clapton has obviously not been drinking hard before this show, as he delivers a good and laidback show - I enjoy this concert/recording I must say

COMMENTS:
This is (from what I understand) a totally NEW source from this concert. My thanks goes to the taper and the label - "Tricone".....they obviously didn't didn't "rip off" a torrent, but presented a new source. Correct me if I'm wrong. Eric Clapton live in 1977-1979 is drastically different to what he accomplished later on (from 1987 onwards), as he's quite laidback and in "a fog"; which did NOT bring out the best of him as a guitarist. Then again; these foggy late 70s shows to have a mood of their own - which is enjoyable to listen to. Opening with "The Core" was a great idea - and I also really like "Sign Language", which Clapton didn't perform after 1977.
